There is hardly any place where you can find so many sandy beaches as in the east of crete. One of our favourites is the beach of Vai, a place where crete´s famous date palms grow. The beach is named after the city Vai which is not far away.

Agios Nikolaos, a port city in the east of Crete, is another highlight on your trip. Legend has it that Athene herself swam in the Voulismeni lake which is located in the middle of the city.

Crete is not only a place for swimming but also a paradise for hikers. One of the most frequented hiking places is the Samaria Gorge in the south-west. It is 1250 meters high and 17 kilometres long.

If you´re traivelling to Mongolia, make sure you combine the trip with a stop in Yekaterinburg. With 1.5 million inhabitants, it´s Russia´s 4th largest city and definitely a highlight on the Trans-Siberian Railway!
